Not just for books

Built-in shelving units often present a decorating challenge for clients.  What to put on all those shelves? For this client, we embraced this task by removing some shelves and staggering the rest, pulling in larger items and removing book jackets to reveal the colored spines of the books…all to create visual interest and a cohesive look.  The built-in unit went from backdrop to focal point in the large family room.

We also helped amp up the cozy factor in this client’s casual dining area.  We replaced the two lonely prints with a wall of interest featuring an over-sized spoon and fork, black round medallion and the word “eat” surrounded by a frame. Four black frames with white mats rounded out the wall ensemble and provided a perfect place for the client to feature a close-up photo of each child eating pizza.
